Funeral services for Ida Elizabeth Stevens, 84, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Pastor Don Landers officiating. She was born September 16, 1924 and went to Heaven on Monday, March 9, 2009. She was the daughter of Jess and Margaret Boling. There were eight brothers and four sisters. She attended school at Cedar Mounds. Arvel and Liz were married in 1946 and had one son, Gary. They lived in Fort Gibson all their lives. She was a homemaker and also worked for Roger's Drug Store, TG and Y, and Ed's Pharmacy. Her hobby and last job she enjoyed was making quilts. She made and sold hundreds of quilts in her later years of life. She loved and cherished her granddaughters and her two great-grandsons. Liz's husband, Arvel, passed away April 3, 2004 at the age of 86. They were married for fifty-eight years. He was a mechanic and was known and trusted for his work. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Gary Stevens, of Tahlequah; granddaughters,; Angela Harris of Tahlequah, Misti McPhail and husband, Kevin, of Broken Arrow; two great-grandsons, Tyler Harris and Brandon McPhail; two sisters, Vivian Landers of Midwest City, Evelyn Smith of Cheyenne, WY; two brothers, Don Boling of Shawnee and Doyle Boling of Muskogee; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Don Boling, Doyle Boling, Clint Boling, Larry Boling, Carter Raley, and Kevin McPhail. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Harris and Brandon McPhail. Interment will be at the Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson. Elizabeth was more than just a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and care-giver, she had a giving heart and it was manifested through out her life in so many ways to everyone she came in contact with. She joined Arvel in Heaven Monday night and is smiling down from Heaven, leaving the pain behind of her mortal body. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A special thank you to Anna Jean Adams who visited mother at her home and in the nursing home, being the loyal friend, provider and Sister in Christ.
