Doyle Wesley Boling, 81, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on November 29, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He was born to parents Jess and Margaret Boling, on June 8, 1938, in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Doyle graduated valedictorian from Ft. Gibson High School 1957 and attended North Eastern State University.

Doyle married Rolleen in 1960, who survives him. Doyle was a loving husband and father and is survived by daughter Ellen and her husband Eric, Clint with his wife Kelli, as well as grandchildren Marilyn, Alyssa, Jill, Brittni, Paige, and Seth. Doyle is also survived by his twin brother Don Boling and older sister Vivian Landers. Doyle’s brothers and sisters who preceded him were Cassie Raley, Jess “Buck” Boling Jr., Cecil Boling, Maggie Beavers, Elizabeth Stevens, Theodore Boling, Jerry Boling, and Evelyn Smith.

Doyle was known for his love of woodworking and mechanics. He spent hours working in his shop rebuilding automobiles and creating a variety of carpentry projects. He was owner of Doyle Boling Construction in Muskogee and ran the business with his wife Rolleen as his business partner. Doyle’s carpentry career flourished between the 1960’s thru the 2000’s and he continued to work as a carpenter up until his death, even after retirement. There was never a project too big or small for him. He often performed work pro bono for people he knew needed help and had nowhere else to turn. Doyle always shared his knowledge of his craft with his apprentice carpenters in hopes that they would carry on the tradition as it had been taught to him and in return he often developed lifelong relationships with them.

Doyle will be missed by all who knew him and his family members who loved and depended on him up until his death. He touched many lives and developed lifelong friendships with both clients and employees. He leaves his legacy in Muskogee through the buildings he built and the lives he has touched through the years.

One of his sayings was that if you build something on God’s earth, better make sure you strive for perfection, because the land is sacred; i.e. don’t design ugly buildings.

Funeral services honoring Doyle’s life will be 10AM, Friday, December 6, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Citizen’s Cemetery in Fort Gibson. Pallbearers will be Tom Ketcham, Gary Ketcham, Jim Hagan, John Saul, Steve Perry, and Seth Boling. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Boling and Larry Boling.
