"G.R. C. Lanier of Winder passes away Dec. 29, at the home of his daughter , Mrs B.D. Lovejoy of Sparta, Ga., in his 81 st year.
Five daughters and three sons survive him: Mrs. J. Homer Hill, Winder, Mrs.C.G. Roberts, Atlanta, Mrs. G.L. Ethridge, Bergenfield, N.J., Mrs. B.D. Lovejoy, Sparta, W.S. Lanier, Crawford, George C. Lanier, Atlanta, R.R. Lanier, Bergenfield,N.J.
Mr. Lanier has been a member of the Christian church for fifty years. Being of the quiet, unassuming disposition, he was loved by all those whom his life touched and his deep religious faith ripened with advancing years.
To his loved ones and his host of friends, he has left the rich hertiage of noble life and the radiant hope of a happy and never ending reunion.
Funeral services in the Statham Christian church , Dec. 31, 2:30 p.m. were in charge of Rev. W.B. McDonald, of Winder, and burial in the Statham Cemetery."
