Services for William Noel Cox, 74, Ozark, were held Oct. 5 in the First Baptist Church with the Revs, Troy Rhoden and David Howard officiating. Burial was in Spokane Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Cox died Oct. 2 in his home from an apparent heart attack. He served four terms in the Missouri House before being elected to the Senate in 1952. He retired from the Senate in 1971 to manage Cox Auction Company, of which she was owner and operator. Cox also worked with the Missouri Tourism Commission and serves as minority floor leader. He was a school teacher, cattleman, and served as deacon and teacher of the Men’s Bible Church Class at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; two sons, Bill and Dwight, both of Ozark; a daughter, Rose Anne Cox, Ozark; a brother, Charles, Spokane; a sister, Betty Vanderford, Mira Loma, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
