Charles Wilson "Batch" Cox, 91 of Ozark, passed away February 28, 2008. He was born September 5, 1916 in Spokane, the son of Oliver and Mary Frances (Siesser) Cox.

On March 25, 1944 he married Eula E. Mease. Mr. Cox served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star. He owned and operated Spokane General Store from 1954-1968 where he formed many lasting friendships and was known for his benevolent spirit. Mr. Cox enjoyed woodworking and was especially fond of making wooden toys. He dearly loved and was a member of Selmore Baptist Church. In 2001, Mr. Cox visited Europe on a military memorial tour with his grandson.

Survivors include: his daughter, Claire Frances Draffen and husband Tom, Ozark; two grandchildren, Gordon Draffen, Ozark and Lori Cox and husband Ryan, Springfield; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Adilynn; a niece, Rose Anne Cox, Ozark; a nephew, Dwight Cox, Ozark; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Stephen Charles Cox; two sisters, Edra and Betty; and a brother, Noel.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Josh Hall officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Spokane Cemetery.
