Gloria Jean Beaird McBride McClain was born July 1, 1937 in Baytown to Lee Boyd Beaird and L.C. Daniel and adopted by Leo Burton McBride. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and attended one year secretarial college.
While in Baytown, she worked for Humble Oil as a secretary. On May 12, 1958 she and Joseph Ray McClain were married in Baytown. To this union three children were born. They lived in Dime Box and have lived 40 years in Rockdale she was a homemaker and member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Rockdale.
Gloria passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at her home in Rockdale, reaching the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray on June 22, 2007. Sister, Wanda Pharis on January 17, 2009, Father Lee Boyd Beaird, Mother, L.C. Beaird McBride and adopted father, Leo Burton McBride.
Surviving, Kenneth McClain of Rockdale, Tracy McClain and wife Dawn of Grandbury. Daughter, Rachel McClain Correa and husband Ariel of Rockdale. Seven grandchildren, Bradley McClain and Daniel McClain of Temple, Maranda Melton, Brian Johnson and Mark Johnson of Grandbury, Jasmine Correa and Samantha Correa of Rockdale. Great grandchild, Brint Melton of Grandbury. Special nieces and grandchildren, Janice Dorsett, Connie Merka, Thomas Merka, Clayton Merka, Heather Ramos, Victoria Ramos and Donna Craig.
Services were Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home and burial in the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell with Rev. John Warren officiating.
