Clinton Missouri, Sep 24 1904 - The death of Joseph C. Rainey occurred at his home in west Clinton a little before midnight September 15 of consumption, after an illness of 15 weeks. Born July 6, 1865 and raised in Benton County. Married Miss Armilda Pigg Dec. 11, 1890. She survives him, together with his three little children - Nellie 12, Reuben 10, Daisy 6. They lived in LaDue a number of years, and went to Garland where Mr. Rainey was in the mercantile business two years before they moved to Clinton last April. Since then, he developed consumption. Funeral from the residence and sorrowing friends followed the remains to Park cemetery, near Coal, for burial. (obit from Henry Co. website)
