She leaves a father, mother, three sisters and four brothers besides a number of friends and relatives to mourn her loss, but we hope that their loss was her gain.
The deceased was thirty years of age. She gave her heart to God in 1894 and was a member of the Methodist church at Cedar Grove and West Point for about fourteen years and has lived a life that is a worthy example for all Christians to follow. She bore her suffering patiently and when He called her, she was willing and ready and went off without a sigh. "Blessed are they that die in the Lord." She will never know any more sorrow or feel any more pain.
I have known Maggie from her childhood up and I always found her to be a gentle, kind and loving friend. Now, permit me to say from the depths of my heart, farewell, Maggie, farewell, you have gone to an unknown world to us. God bless the memory of Maggie Fowler.
Her remains were carried to the Bethel Church at Weldon where a large congregation had assembled to hear the funeral services conducted by Rev. B.F. Wilson, of Irvington. She was neatly laid away in the Johnson Cemetery to await the resurrection morn. A Friend
