Mr. Garcia died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Lubbock. He was born April 17, 1952, in Colorado City, and moved to Abernathy in 1968. He married Lidia Mendoza on July 22, 1978, in Abernathy. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where he was a member of the Crusillistas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Antonio and Jesusa Garcia; father, Bruno T. Garcia; brother, Antonio M. Garcia; one sister, Aurora Garcia; and a grandson, Alex Maldonado, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Lidia Garcia, of Abernathy; two daughters, Nicole Garcia, of Lubbock, and Marquita Garcia, of Abernathy; two sons, Amador Garcia, Jr., of Lubbock and Sammy Garcia, of Abernathy; and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Guadalupe M. Garcia, of Abernathy; seven brothers, Apolino Garcia, of Lubbock, Abel Garcia, of New Deal, Armando Garcia, of Colorado, Bruno Garcia, Jr., Joe Garcia, Jessie Garcia, and Angel Garcia, all of Abernathy; five sisters, Angie Tovar and Anita Garcia, both of Abernathy, Alberta Olivarez, of Amarillo, Diane Garcia, of Alpine, and Susie Garcia, of Lubbock; and 30 nieces and nephews.
