Mrs. Bertha L. Nelson, 75, of 1013 N. 6th Street, Iron River, died on Tuesday, December 29 at Crystal Falls Community Hospital, Crystal Falls.
Mrs. Nelson was born October 16, 1895 in Hango [Hanko], Finland and came to this country when she was a child with her parents and resided in Crystal Falls. She later moved to Iron River where she had since resided.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Peter Ropiak of Crystal Falls; one son Arthur Nelson of Caspian; three sisters, Mrs. Adine McNeil of Crystal Falls, Mrs. Helga Nelson and Mrs. Ed (Esther) Rachey of Stambaugh; two brothers, Elmer Segerson of Iron River and Gunnard Segerson of Lake Forest, Illinois. Also surviving are one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 2 at the Duvall Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Smith of Assembly of God Church officiating.
Mrs. Donald Smith, organist, also sang "In the Garden" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."
Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Wicklund, Malcolm McNeil, Alden Froblom, Tony Fittante, Charles Froblom and Leo Pisoni.
The Duvall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
