Church Service for Olive Cox, 94, of Muleshoe, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 5, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Muleshoe, with Dr. Stacy Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Enochs Cemetery, in Enochs, Texas.

Olive died Sunday, Mar. 1, 2009, in Muleshoe. She was born Dec. 4, 1914, in Erath County, Texas, to Jeff and Crystal (Shoup) Howle. She married Johnie Angel, Jan. 13, 1931, in Bailey County; he preceded her in death, Oct. 1967. She married Johnnie Cox, May of 1973 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Angel, in 1987; and two daughter, Phyllis Angel, in 1937, and Loretta Layton, in 1993.

Olive was a homemaker and a life long resident of Bailey County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Muleshoe.

Survivors include two daughters, Nelma Gutwald, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Sandra Austin, of Ruidoso, N.M.; one step-daughter, Margie Hearrell, of Hillsboro, Texas; one sister, Johnnie Wenzel, of Granbury; two brothers, J.P. Howle, of Benson, Ariz., and J.L. Howle, of Springtown, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Enochs Cemetery, c/o J.E. Layton, 3140 CR 184, Morton, Texas 79346.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe.
