Mrs. Elizabeth V. Gilliom, 92, of 421 East South St. died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Clinic Hospital, where she had been a patient three days. Death was attributed to an obstruction of the intestines. A lifelong resident of the area, she was the widow of Orel Gilliom, who preceded her in death in 1946.
She was born Oct. 22, 1875 on the Wells-Adams County line, a daughter of John and Anna Heyerly Gerber. Her marriage to Mr. Gilliom took place April 15, 1906 in Adams County. A member of the Apostolic Christian Church, she was the last of her family of six sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Roy (Lucy) Haab, Mrs. Roger (Violet) Isch, both of Bluffton, Mrs. Sterling (Elva) Blocker of Bluffton Route 3 and Miss Nora Gilliom, at home, and one son, Ralph of Phoenix, Ariz.
Five stepchildren, Louis, Bruce and William Gilliom, Mrs. Joel (Aldine) Schaefer, all of Bluffton, and Miss Aldula Gilliom, at home; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren also survive. In addition, Kenneth Gilliom of Bluffton Route 4 was reared in the Gilliom home.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Apostolic Christian Church with Rev. John Yergler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Goodwin Funeral Home.
