MINNIE STEPHENS

GALLIPOLIS-Mrs. Minnie Stephens, 83 of 514 Second Ave., died Friday night in Holzer Medical Center, Fourth Avenue. She had been in failing health for several months and seriously ill for one week.
Born in Elliott Co., Ky., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jane Maggaard Whitt. Her husband, Thomas Stephens, died in 1952. She attended Flag Springs Methodist Church.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Tracie (Monnie) Fraley, Patriot; Mrs. James (Emma) Davis, Troy, Mrs. Charles (Jewell) Parker, Patriot; Mrs. Gladys Andre, Gallipolis, Mrs. William (Betty) Jaqua, Piqua; Mrs. Harold (Nannie) Fuller, Columbus, three sons: James of Belle chass La; Clarence of Patriot and Charles of Ashland, 47 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. A son, five brothers and a sister preceded her in death. She had resided in Gallia County for 43 years.
Services will be conducted Monday at 2p.m. at the Flag Spring Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
