Sidney is the son of John Young and Laura Alzina (Hunting) Braden. He married Jane E Cox on May 23, 1861. Sidney was in Company B, 116th Illinois Infantry, Civil War. He died from wounds received at Vicksburg. On his farm about 4 miles north of Decatur, on Sunday, January 10th, Sidney Braden, at the age of 35 years. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his untimely death. The funeral is to take place tomorrow from the residence of his father; J.Y. Braden, the Rev. N.S. Haynes, officiating.
