Obituary:
Thomas J. Braden died at 7:30 o'clock Monday night at St. Mary's hospital. He would have been seventy-seven years old in August. He had been in failing health for the last two years, but had been in the hospital only since last Saturday. Mr. Braden came from pioneer stock.
His father, John Young Braden, came with his parents to Macon county from Tennessee in 1829. They settled in what is now Hickory Point township, and some members of the family have lived in that township ever since Macon county was organized. Thomas J. Braden was born there Aug 25, 1849, and about all the active years of his life were spent there. His wife died in September,1924. He Is survived by two children, Miss Ethel M. Braden and James Arthur Braden of Decatur. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Flora Bear of Decatur and Mrs. Cora Dillehunt of Needles, Cal. There are two grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Brintlinger & Sons undertaking establishment and prepared for burial, and will remain there till time for the funeral. The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Boiling Springs church. The burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
