Mary Jane was the daughter of James William and Mary Key. Siblings were John Martin, Aseneth, Manerva, William S Washington, Nancy, Hiel Armstrong, Celia Caroline, and James Thomas Key. Mary Jane was born mostly deaf and lost her eyesight later in life. Even so handicapped, she played the piano, crotcheted, cooked, and managed to do many things a normally healthy person could do. She was an inspiration to those around her.
