Elsie Morell Vermillion, 72, of Manila died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center in Monette. Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Nimmo Stanfill. She was a lifelong Manila area resident and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Manila.
She is survived by a son, Doyle McCallie of Manila; five daughters Brenda Nelson and Karenn Daniel, both of Manila, Helen Johnson of Burdette, Sharon Stone and Connie Kelly, both of Manila; a sister, Dovie Ellen Stanfill; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, James Rushing, Burl McCallie and Bill Vermillion; a son, Jimmy Harold Rushing; and two grandchildren, Teddy Stone and Timothy Holt.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Phillip Brown officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery
