Mrs. L. M. Mitchell, of Waynesboro, died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. John S. Blount, Monday morning. Mrs. Mitchell was born and reared in South Carolina but moved to Burke county in 1861, and since that time has continued a resident of the county. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church for more than forty years. By her deeds of kindness she drew many to her. Truly those who knew her best loved her most.
She leaves four children to mourn her loss: Mr. W. L. Mims, Mrs. John S. Blount, Mrs. Wells, and Mr. Walter Mitchell.
Rev. W. F. Smith conducted the funeral from the Methodist church, and her body was laid away in the cemetery of Waynesboro to await the resurrection morn.
