Unity – Lloyd W. Myrick, 79, of Unity Plantation, died Sunday morning, May 5, 1985, at a Belfast hospital following a long illness. He was born in Troy, September 20, 1905, son of Blendon and Flora Myrick.

He was a resident of Troy for over 50 years, where he operated a farm that was settled by his great-grandfather, Dennis Myrick. For the past 25 years, he resided in Unity Plantation. He was a 1923 graduate of Unity High School. He married Ruth Bagley in 1927. She predeceased him in 1951. From 1955 until his retirement, he worked for the state highway department. He served as Troy selectman and was a school committee member in 1945-1946. He was a member of the Maine State Employees Association and the Retired Maine State Employees Association. He was also a member of the Troy Grange and the Troy Methodist Church.

He is survived by five children, Mrs. Loren (Marjorie) Tinker of Leominster, Mass., Mrs. Clayton (Barbara) Blood of Searsport, Paul Myrick of Hudson, N.H., Philip Myrick of Unity and Warren Myrick of Guilford; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lawry Brothers Funeral Home in Unity.
