Mr. Ernest Moten Clonts, age 98, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Hirma, Georgia, Passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 1986 in Cobb General Hospital. He had been a resident of Brain Care Nursing Home since February, 1985.

He was born on October 29, 1887 in Paulding County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. A. Brown Clonts and the late Mrs. Sarah Patterson Clonts. His wife was the late Mrs. Effie Ophelia Hipps Clonts.

Mr. Clonts was a member of Hiram United Methodist Church. He was an Outside Collector of Accounts.

Survivors inclued two daughters, Mrs. Jane Clonts Lake of Morrow, and Mrs. Bruce (Mary) Merrit of Raleigh, North Carolina; His sisters, Mrs. Etta Clonts Jordan of Hiram; Three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services were held on Thursday, July 3, 1986 at 5:30 pm at Flint Hill Cemetery with his nephew, Randy Arnold, officiating.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
