Obituary--Rensselaer Republican, Saturday, June 4, 1966

Mrs. Josephine Olsen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen Melchert, in DeMotte at 12:30 a.m. today. She was a DeMotte resident for twenty-six years, going there from Chicago.

Mrs. Olsen was born in Chicago, June 25, 1881, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Barabas) Brichacek. She was married to Frank Olsen in Chicago, October 25, 1902. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Olsen was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge 4504 of Chicago.

Surviving her with her daughter, Mrs. Albert Melchert, are two sons, Arthur Olsen of Berwyn, Illinois, and Frank Olsen of Cleveland, Ohio; a granddaughter, and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Mikish of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The funeral services will be held from Todd's Funeral Home in DeMotte at 4 p.m., Sunday with the Rev. Eric Storm officiating. Interment will be in Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago at 11 a.m. Monday. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home after 8 p.m. today.
