Michael Bohach, 93

NILES - Michael Bohach, 93, passed away Saturday morning at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael was born April 18, 1913 in Hrustov, Czechoslovakia, a son of the late Michael and Mary Voytko Bohach, and came to America and the area as a child in 1921.

He served for four years in the U.S. Army during WWII and was involved with heavy-duty maintenance. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant and was awarded five Bronze Stars for his military service.

Mr. Bohach worked for 42 years for General American Transportation, and retired as a locomotive engineer in 1973.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a volunteer firefighter for the Vienna Fire Department.

Michael enjoyed gardening.

He leaves two sons, William (Kathleen) Bohach of Cortland, and Robert (Cindy) Bohach of Vienna; a daughter, Marlene (Alex) Antonchak of Vienna; three sisters, Mary Rottenberry of Pensacola, Fla., Ann McMichael of Coitsville, and Irene Long of Warren; and seven grandchildren, Mathew and Brett Bohach, Marc, Arianne, and Ryan Antonchak, and Nathan and Katie Bohach.

His beloved wife, Roselyn Terlesky Bohach, whom he married Sept. 18, 1948, died March 19, 1997.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, where a prayer service will be at 6 p.m.

Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and continue at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Mr. Bohach will be interred next to his wife at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
