Helen Jean Manis Castle

Helen Jean Manis Castle , 73, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (May 13, 2006) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was born in Hawkins County (Edison) and lived in Kingsport most of her life.

She attended Bushong Church and also, Andrew Memorial Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Henry Castle; her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Blanch Lawson Manis; one sister; and one brother.

Surviving are her daughter, Martha Castle of Kingsport; three sons, Joe L. Castle and wife, Debbie of Mount Carmel, Henry James Castle and Neal (Preacherman) Castle, both of Kingsport; nine grandchildren, Michael Ray, Brentley, Shane, Jessica, Brandy, Danielle, Sabrina, Kayla and Michael; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Alma Hurd and husband, Jess of Kingsport; three brothers, Oits Manis of Ohio, Everette Manis and wife, Brenda of Longwood, Fla., and Charles Manis and wife, Ruth of Church Hill; four special friends, Wonda Littrell, Pat Mitchell, Dorothy Meade and Jeane Dolley; along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Family and friends may also call anytime at the home of her daughter, Martha Castle, 1000 Stonegate Road, Apt. R-9, Kingsport or her son, Joe Castle, 205 Locust St., Mount Carmel.

Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Clint Hensley and Rev, Willie Neeley officiating. Eulogy will be given by Jeff Hurd.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m.

Pallbearers will be her family and friends.
