Shasta came to us when she was about 2 years old.
The people who had her got her from someone else who apparently had abused her.
She was a very loving cat & welcomed a little 'sister' a year later.
She was very protective of this little one, saving her life from a pit bull who got loose & was trying to attact Moe in our back yard. Moe was on a 'run' so could only go into the garage & climb the door while Shasta did her best to distract the dog.
Years later she developed thyroid disease & was cooling off on our front stoop when she was shot by some kid with a BB gun.
We did our best to make her comfortable in her later years. Twice weekly sub Q IV fluids, trips to the vet to have fluids drawn from her chest & medicines helped but we knew the end was coming soon. She died in my arms after a 2nd heart attack on the way to the emergency clinic to have her put to sleep.
She was about 20 years old at the time of her death.
She is missed by her 'parents' Chuck & Priscilla Fox.
She was buried in our backyard with a favorite blanket, a sweatshirt of mine & a few toys.
