Maurine Hardy died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, in Plano, Texas. She was 79.

Mrs. Hardy was born February 13, 1930, in Miami to James and Beulah Elrod. She lived in Dallas, Texas, for more than 50 years.

She was employed by W.T. White High School as the high school registrar. Survivors include one son and his wife, Harmon and Connie Hardy of Carrollton, Texas; one daughter and her husband, Cyndee and Dan Hallanbach of Colorado; four sisters, Erma Raines and Madeline Armstrong, both of Hurst, Texas, Elaine McFerron of Miami and Kathy Camp of Texas; five grandchildren, Ross, Michelle, Bridget, Miles, and Conner, and one great-grandson, Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairland Cemetery. Eric Carter will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association National Headquarters or First Baptist Church of Miami for Eric Carter mission trip to Armenia with the Oklahoma Baptist Singing Churchmen.
