REBECCA ADAMS JESTER, 98, died Feb. 23, 2009. She was the widow of the late James E. G. Jester of Bainbridge, and daughter of Ben G. and Coley M. Adams of Atlanta. She graduated from Georgia State Teachers College, Athens, and taught in several south Georgia schools. Mrs. Jester was an active member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta. Survivors are her sister, Geraldine A. "Jerry" Patrick, Decatur; nieces, Dorothea Smith, Hilda Patrick, Ann Robinette, and Betty Ruth Tannler; nephews, J. E. Patrick, Wink Smith, Michael Tannler, and G.O. Robinette; also a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A grave side service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, in Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA., with the Rev. V. L. Daughtery officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, P. O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31297, or to Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 100 East Park Ave., Valdosta, Ga 31602.
