LIFE OF MARGARET ELLEN WALTON
-------------
Mrs M. E. Walton was born Dec. 8, 1896 at Bear Lake Idaho in the town of Nounan. Her father J. A. Skinner was a native of Providence, Utah, and her mother came from Salt Lake City. Mr. Skinner was one of the early settlers of Bear Lake, being called during the early days of the church to settle in that district.

Mrs. Walton, who died recently, was taken sick on September 30th, and was confined to her bed until December 1st, when she passed away at the home of Mr. Ed Wilkes of Afton. Mrs Walton was a very faithful church worker, and served in nearly all of the organizations of the Bedford ward, and it is said that there never was a time that she was asked to do work in the ward that she refused if, it was all possible for her to do it. In the year of 1910 she was called as secretary-treasurer in the Y. L. M. I. A. and later as teacher and organist in the Sunday School, and as assistant organist in the ward. She was counselor and play leader in the Primary, and was one of the most faithful workers.

We feel to thank the people in our ward for the service in helping during her illness, also the Relief Society of Afton, and especially the organization in the North Ward.

The songs rendered on Thanksgiving day by the third grade of the district school were very much appreciated.

Mrs. Walton leaves a husband and three children, the youngest being two months old, nine brothers and sisters, a loving father and mother, all of whom attended the funeral except one.

The funeral services were held in the Bedford (sic) ward and internment was made in the Thayne cemetery.

The speakers at the funeral were Bishop Roy Dana, Bishop Osborne Low, Heman Hyde, Lyman Fluckiger and Pres. Albert Barrus.

The singing was very good under the direction (sic) of Mrs. John Bleazard.

A tribute of beautiful flowers was made to both husband and mother.

Our hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved family.
