Tobias File departed this life at his home in Pocahontas, Illinois, January 15, 1894. Mr. File was born in North Carolina, March 20, 1810, nad was 83 years old, 9 months, and 25 days old. He came to Illinois in 1818 and has been a resident of Bond County since. He married December 23, 1830, Sarah G. Gillespie. To this union were born eleven children, four of whom are living, Viz: Jacob File of Baden Baden, Geroge File of St. Jacob, William file of Sorento and Nancy Lindley of Pocahontas. His first wife died in 1849 and he married December 23, 1850 Sina Cook, she died in 1876 and he was married in May 1878 To Mrs. Hannah Baker, who survies him. the remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground near Baden Baden.
Note: Baden Baden is what is known today as Millersburg.
