Harry B. Howell
Mr. Harry B. Howell, age 80, of Marion, N.C., passed away Monday, February 23, 2009 at The McDowell Hospital.
Mr. Howell was born in Buncombe County on September 16, 1928 and was a son of the late J. Ben Howell and Cartie Dillingham Howell.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and retired from Etta Packaging. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving Mr. Howell is his wife of over 61 years, Edith Biddix Howell, of the home; one son, Benny Howell of Marion; two grandchildren, Fred Howell of Marion and Harry Dean Howell and wife Heather, of Morganton; one great-grandchild, Mackenzie; two sisters, Irene Stearns and Mary Louise Frick, both of Marion and a special friend, Dean Ollis.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with The Rev.Dr. Dan Thornton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
Interment will be in McDowell Memorial Park.
