He was one of 13 children of which 3 brothers, mother and father preceded him in death. He attended school north of Lavant. On December 27, 1919 he was united in marriage to Helen Parker. To this union 2 children were born, Arlene Reichman of Iola, Kansas, and Sidney of Colby. He had 5 grandchildren, one of which preceded him in death, of which he enjoyed their companionship, and he loved to entertain them.
In 1923 Louis and his family moved to Lavant where he was in the garage business, until 1928 when he moved with his family to Colby, where he made his home and was in business until his death.
His hobby was fishing and hunting, due to his health he went to Texas in 1953 where ran a fishing pier until 1955 when he returned to Colby.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Helen, daughter Arlene, son Sidney, mother-in-law, Mrs. Lillie Parker, daughter-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends.
