News of the death of Mr. Abner May, who lived near Nickel, was received in this city this morning. Mr. May has been ill some time with slow fever and his death occurred last night. It is reported that the interment will take place tomorrow at Wrightsboro. Mr. May was a well known farmer and had been deputy sheriff under both the Glover and Fly administration. Mr. May was preparing to move down into Dewitt county when he was taken ill.
