W.T. Gillam Dies; Rites Held Today

Long-time Kirkland resident William Thomas Gillam, 83, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday in Childress General Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services are set for 4 p.m. today in Newberry Chapel with Elder E.A. Sanders of Kirkland Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in the Kirkland cemetery by Newberrys.

Mr. Gillam was born March 1, 1877, in Warrensburg, Tenn., and had farmed in Kirkland community many years before moving to Childress. He was a member of Kirkland Church of Christ.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J.V. Dial of Childress and Mrs. Adam Reinhardt of Houston; and four sons, E.H. and R.C. Gillam both of Houston, A.L. Gillam of Big Spring, and F.R. Gillam of Nacogdoches.

CHILDRESS, Dec. 28 - Funeral services for William Thomas Gillam, 83, of Kirkland Community, were held Tuesday afternoon in Newberry Chapel here with E.A. Sanders of the Kirkland Church of Christ officiating.

Burial was in Kirkland Cemetery under the direction of Newberry Funeral Home of Childress.

Mr. Gillam, a farmer and long-time resident of Kirkland, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday in Childress General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 1, 1877, in Warrensburg, Tenn., and was a member of the Kirkland Church of Christ.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.V. Dial of Childress and Mrs. Adam Reinhardt of Houston; and four sons, E.H. and R.C. Gillam of Houston, A.L. of Big Spring and F.R. Gillam of Nacogdoches.
