James Walter Gooch, 72, Killen, died April 5, 2001, at her residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Florence, Al, and was a resident of Killen, Al. He was a retired manager of the Greenhill Water Department and a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ.
visitation will be 6-9 pm Saturday, April 7, 2001, at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Green Hill Cemetery.
Officiating a the funeral will be Fred Dillion
Survivors include his daughters Sandra Gooch, San Diego, Cal., Sharon Jones, Susan Putman, Shari Sykes all of Greenhill, Al., sister Florence Gertrude Amburgey, Florence, 7 grandchildren, Jamie Jones Heuszel, Christy Jones-Wilson Randi Jones, Julia Thigpen, Joseph Thigpen, Morgan Putman, and Josh Sykes, 6 great-grandchildren, a special friend Velma Bogans.
He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Inez Gooch, father John Wylie Gooch, and his mother Nellie Gooch.
Pallbearers will be Josh Sykes, Joseph Thigpen, JC Gooch, Jamie Harper, Rayford Gist, and Ronnie Gooch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Boggand and Michael Tank
