THE DAILY BULLETIN, Wed., Jan. 4, 1939, p. 9, col. 6. "Funeral services for George Warren, about 55, Martinsville paint contractor, whose lifeless body was found in a bedroom of his home on North Moss Street early Tuesday afternoon by a daughter, were held Wednesday." Burial at Beckham Methodist Church Cemetery (?), eight miles east of Martinsville. The coroner could not determine whether death resulted from a suicide act, or from some other cause. Members of the family said that he had been despondent for the last several months due to declining health. He was a life long resident of this county.
Survivors: Wife [not named], three daughters, Mesdames Mary Etta Smith, Mildred Richardson and Miss Catherine Warren, all of this city, one sister, Mrs. J. R. Winn, and five brothers, J. Henry, and C. Edward Warren of this city; J. Lee Warren of Leaksville, N.C., William C. Warren of Irisburg, Va. and James T. Warren of Ridgeway, Va.

George was first buried at Beckham Methodist Church in southern Henry County, VA. and several years later re-interred at Oakwood Cemetery, Martinsville, VA.
George was the son of Columbus Swanson Warren (1841-1925) and Mary Catherine Oakes Warren (1845-1915).
Lena was the daughter of Joseph Taylor Hundley (1862-1949) and Mary Etta Hopkins Hundley (1863-1955)
