LaNora Neal Langdon died January 2, 2008 in Vancouver, Washington at the age of 93. She was born on December 25, 1914 in Camas, WA to William and Olive Atkins Neal. The family moved to Vancouver in 1929 where she graduated from Fort Vancouver High School. LaNora completed her teaching degree at Western Oregon State College. She taught in several rural schools in Oregon prior to her marriage to Frank Langdon on September 27, 1941. She then worked in the Clark County Clerk's Office until the birth of her daughter. After the death of her husband in 1957 she resumed teaching and was on the faculty of Shumway Junior High until her retirement in 1973. She then returned to work in the Clerk's Office until 1987. In her younger years she loved swimming, tennis, skating, dancing, traveling and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was devoted to her family. LaNora is survived by her daughter, Lynn Matti of Grants Pass, Oregon; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and her best friend, Joy Johnson. Graveside services will be held 9:30 a.m., Tuesday January 8, 2008 at Park Hill Cemetery, Vancouver, WA. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
