Thomas married Ann Susan Carnegy on 30 May 1822 and they had six children together: Sarah, William, Joseph, Elizabeth, Caleb and Louisa. They constructed the brick house at "Greenway Court" in 1828.
Although he was a Methodist minister, Thomas retired from active service in the pulpit after his marriage. In his later years he was a devoted fox hunter.
Thomas died 17 Mar 1853 at Greenway Court and is buried in the Greenway Court Cemetery with his wife.
