Ann Susan Carnegy was born in 1799 or 1800, the only child of William Carnegy and Elizabeth "Betsy" Powers. She inherited "Greenway Court" from her mother.

Ann married Rev. Thomas Kennerly, a Methodist minister, on 30 May 1822. They had six children together: Sarah, William, Joseph, Elizabeth, Caleb and Louisa.

Ann died on 13 Dec 1850 at the age of 51. Thomas died on 17 Mar 1853 and is buried in the Greenway Court Cemetery with his wife.
