John Lee Boyle, named after his father John and his great Uncle Isaac Lee Boyle.
John was four years old when his father left/died and twelve when his mother died. He lost two siblings and both parents by the age of twelve.

Be it known that I, John Lee Boyle, a citizen of the United States, residing in Harrisburg,in the county of Linn and the state of Oregon, have invented a new and useful Sack-Sewing Machine, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to certain improvements in machines for sewing the mouths of filled sacks.
The article goes on four to five pages explaining the improvements and operations of the machine.
