Gordon A. Barron, age 84, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.

A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Gordon was born April 14, 1923 in Glyndon, MN to Perry and Hazel (Ebeltoft) Barron. Gordon served in the US Navy as a Flight Engineer during WWII. He graduated from Bemidji State College in 1949. He was united in marriage to Carol Hall on September 25, 1954 in Cottonwood, MN. Gordon worked as District Manager at the Social Security Office retiring in 1979.

Gordon enjoyed golf, bowling, and playing bridge, he was also a woodworker and an avid reader. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include wife, Carol of St. Cloud, MN; sons, Allen (Lois) of Eden Prairie, MN, Bruce (Kim) of Broken Arrow , OK, and Jeff (Kelly Thomton) of Sartell, MN; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Alex, Sarah, and Natalie; brothers and sister, Jack of Baudette, MN, Don (Gladys) of Thief River Falls, MN, Charles (Delores) of Minnetonka, MN, and Phyllis Dunn (Richard Braithwaite) of Winona, MN. Also surviving is Linnea Barron of St. Cloud, mother of Alex and Natalie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Andrew Barron; and brother, Harry.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Heartland Home Care and Hospice, St. Cloud, MN.
