Ernest wes born to Martin and Louise Walterscheid Bayer in Muenster, Texas. He was educated at Sacred Heart School and graduated in May of 1954. He died in auto accident with Albert and Gilbert Knabe, his best friends. The three boys were in the back seat of the car and all died instantly. The funeral for the three boys were held at the same time, the hearsts rode down the street next to each other and all were buried at the same time.
