R. G. Bennett, 85, died last night in North Carolina where he was visiting a son, according to information received here.
Mr. Bennett had always lived in Ware County in the Waresboro vicinity. He was known as “Uncle Gid” Bennett.
Funeral arrangements as yet are incomplete.

Funeral services for R. G. Bennett, father of J. J. Bennett will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at High Bluff Cemetery it is announced.
Other arrangements were incomplete at press time.

Richard G. Bennett, 82, former resident of Waycross where he was prominently known for many years as “Uncle Gid”, who died Tuesday at Zebulon, N. C., was laid to last rest near here this afternoon at High Bluff cemetery, in the Schlatterville section.
He is survived by four sons, W. H. Bennett of Waycross, C. W. Bennett of Zebulon, N. C., and J. B. Bennett of Waycross; three daughters, Mrs. Mollie Wilson of Savannah, Mrs. Ada Woods of Guyton, and Mrs. Pearl Windsor of Guyton; also a brother T. J. Bennett of Waynesville.
The last rites were conducted by the Rev. C. W. Barnard.
Mincy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
