JOHN ALFRED BRASFIELD III, 61, of Memphis, passed away February 14, 2009 at the V. A. Medical Center. Mr. Brasfield served in the U. S. Navy. He was a graduate of Westwood High School in 1967 and attended Gupton Jones Mortuary College in Atlanta, GA. He successfully owned and operated Tennessee Mortuary Service and Tennessee Cremations, Inc. of Memphis. Mr. Brasfield was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He was an avid golfer and had a passion for the sport. John is survived by former wife of 38 years, Kaye Alexander Brasfield, his two sons, Adam (Ellen) and Nic (Ashley) Brasfield, and brother, Ronald Brasfield. He also had one grandson, Maddox Brasfield. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, February 17 at Canale Funeral Directors.
