ALICE LUCINDA BORST 97, of South Vienna and a life-long Clark County resident, died Monday morning, September 10, 2001, in her residence. She was born February 16, 1904 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Edgar W. and Josephine (Melvin) McCartney. Mrs. Borst was a graduate of Springfield High School and Wittenberg College. She was a member of First United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Marvin Borst in 1981; her sister, Norma Kubic; a son-in-law, Ted Taggart; and a grandson, Kevin Borst. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Dean A. Elam and Rev. Jacoba Koppert officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Bookmobile Department of the Clark County Public Library, 201 South Fountain Avenue, Springfield, Ohio 45505. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of both of these organizations for their great kindness and caring.
