Fred Thompson, the only surviving child born to Smith Thompson & Harriet Elizabeth Huff Thompson . Husband of Sarah Jane Dennis Thompson , father of 10 children, eight of which lived to adulthood. Children included, Smith , Josephine, Charles, Warren, Rose, David, Fred, Ralph , Margaret, & Howard . Fred worked in the lumber industry, often being absent from the home.

The last years of Fred's life, he lived with his daughter Margaret , son-in-law Oren & their children, in the little 2 bedroom house on Cleveland Avenue.

Fred is buried by his wife Sarah in the family lot at North Ensley Cemetery, in Newaygo County.
