Laura Merry, wife of John Merry and daughter of Milberry and Elizabeth Archer, after a short illness of some 9 days died Thursday, August 18th, of brain malaria at her home on Salt Run, aged 21 years and about 11 months. The funeral took place in the Methodist Episcopal church at Pleasant Ridge, Friday, August 19, conducted by Rev. Sayres. She leaves a husband and two children. Thus youthful vigor has yielded to the relentless shaft of death and a life of promise is suddenly brought to a close.
