He was a 1923 graduate of Houston High School.
He married Nelle Lorraine Smith April 9, 1927. They had two sons.
Mr. Duff taught school for many years at Stoutland, where he also served as superintendent. He returned to Houston and was active in business and was a funeral director at Houston and Springfield. He also operated cattle farms at Richland and Houston.
He served on the board of education for the Houston Schools and was a member of the Houston Lions Club and Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Houston, where he was an elder and adult Sunday School teacher.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Noel and William "Bill" Duff.
Surviving are his wife, Nelle, of Houston; two sons, Hal of Osage Beach and Ross of Columbia; two brothers, Earl Duff of Grove, Okla., and Lance Duff of Miami, Okla.; one sister, Opal Hopkins of Mountain Grove; and three grandchildren.
Services were May 13 at the First Christian Church in Houston with John Frakes officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Parker Funeral Service of Columbia.
