Alvin Beus
Alvin Beus, 85, 5140 Dorian, died Saturday evening at Bannock Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 27, 1902, in Yost, Utah, to Michael John and Sarah Yates Beus. He lived in Moreland where he attended school. He also lived in Grace, Lava Hot Springs and Lewisville, moving to Pocatello in 1947. He married Gladys Wheeler Jan. 25, 1928, in Moreland. She died Aug. 12, 1972. He was employed at Kraft Foods for more than 40 years, retiring in 1967. He lived at 115 Roosevelt for 47 years, until ill health caused him to live with his daughter, Beverly Schubert. He was a member of the LDS Church serving as a home teacher; and a member of Teamsters Local No. 983. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling. He spent many years caring for his wife, Gladys.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Elizabeth Powell, Denver, Colo., and Beverly Schubert, Chubbuck; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, LuGean B. Egbert of Pocatello; two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel with Carwin F. Egbert officiating. Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
