MOOREFIELD Funeral services for Carroll B. Shaffer,69 who died Saturday, at the Veterans hospital in Grand Island,following a long illness,will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Union Church in Moorefield.
Mr.Shaffer had lived in the Moorefield community for the past 33 years. He was a former Frontier county judge,a World War 1 veteran,a member of Curtis Lodge 168 AF and AM,American Legion and was Frontier County Legion Service Officer.
Survivors:wife Nona,daughter ,Mrs. Monine Mortensonof Curtis,sons,James of Ogallala,Jackie of Sidney and Mickey of Omaha;sisters Mrs. Cora Morton of Beatrice;Mrs. June Poage of ElTempo Texas:brothers Roy and Berwin of Beatrice.
The Rev. Randall Heinricks will officiate at the servics.
Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery South of Maxwell.
