On the 1860 Lawrence County Census, Charles Adams is with his father (Alexander) and mother (Mathilda) and siblings. He is the oldest child in this marriage (his father's second). In the 1900 Census for Mount Vernon, Lawrence County, MO, Charles Adams is shown as born in NY, and is a border with the Rumey C. Davis family. He is a farm laborer. He has the same occupation on the 1910 census, when he lived in the Hugh Hill household in Lawrence County. His death certificate noted he was a farmer, born in Rochester, NY. Also says his mother was Matilda Beckwith, who was born in Ireland. A broken thigh was a complication in his death of cystitis.
