SOLOMON ORION OGLINE, son of George Custer & Mary Ann MELTZER-OGLINE. Born and raised on his parents farm located in Jenner twp, Somerset County, PA. A farmer most of his life, he was 2nd oldest of 4 children born to Mary & George Ogline (a farmer & c.w. veteran) named after his father's brother Solomon Ogline that died of Typhoid Fever during serviced in the Union Army on January 17, 1863.

Solomon md Lottie (Laura) Caroline Saylor, d/o Andrew Jackson & anna Pisel Saylor June 8, 1884 in Friedens, PA. Laura was born and raised in Stoney creek twp, Somerset County, PA. The couple would farm and become parents of 9 children including this biographer's grandfather, Charles Jackson Ogline 1896-1927.

Solomon's health began deterioting soon after his wife Laura passed away on 8 Feb 1930. In the last 4 years of his life he'd be confined to a wheelchair taken care of by his daughter Edith and son-in-law Homer J. Murray in home Solomon built just north of Acosta.

Solomon's PA Death Certificate File Nop: is 59338, signed by Homer Murrray, son-in-law, informant. He's laid to rest next Lottie on one side of his grave site, with beloved grandson Duane (son of Charles & Goldie Ogline) on the other in the Lichty Cemetery.
